We honored the memory of the victims of the bombing
It has been 77 years since the Allied bombs accidentally hit Prague on February 14, 1945. On Ash Wednesday, due to unfavorable weather and radar failure, American aircraft lost the right course and a place above Dresden, Germany, found itself above Prague. It dropped 152 tons of bombs on the Czech capital and claimed more than 700 victims and nearly 1,200 wounded. One of the most affected areas was Charles Square. The Faust House and the anti-aircraft shelter in the middle of the square were hit, killing over a hundred Praguers.
On the anniversary of the memorial plaque on the VFN building, the director of the VFN, David Feltl, the Minister of Defense, Jana Černochová, and the mayor of Prague 2, Alexander Udženija, also paid tribute to the deceased.
