New field of study General Nursing
The 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, in cooperation with the General Hospital, has opened a new study program in General Nursing. It thus responds to the lack of general nurses in clinical operations. The three-year study program prepares qualified nurses with a university degree for practice. Applicants from grammar schools, secondary medical schools, but also from any other secondary school with a high school diploma can apply to study.
Practical training is designed individually for each student so that during the study he gets acquainted with all types of workplaces providing health services, was mainly in direct contact with our patients, learned many skills and became part of the medical teams of the General Hospital during their studies. During the course, students will be in contact with the largest capacities in the field and with the most modern technologies and equipment.
The teaching of future nurses will start already in October this year, candidates can apply for the June admission procedure now, no later than April 30, 2022! Theoretical and practical teaching will take place on the premises of the 1st Medical Faculty of Charles University, and especially in our hospital.
The new study program was presented at a press conference by representatives of the General Hospital and the 1st Medical Faculty of Charles University: the director of the General Hospital prof. David Feltl, Dean of the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University prof. Martin Vokurka, Deputy for Non-Medical Health Professions VFN Mgr. Dita Svobodová and Vice-Dean of the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University for Doctoral Studies and Physician III. internal clinics - clinics of endocrinology and metabolism doc. Lukáš Zlatohlávek.
The press conference was also present and the whole program was supported by the Minister of Health of the Czech Republic prof. Vlastimil Valek.
