The experienced team will continue the tradition of quality care for diabetics and patients with endocrine diseases requiring ICU care, for patients with disruptions in the internal environment, for patients with a complicated postoperative course, with abdominal disasters and chronic intestinal failure." stated the head of the metabolic unit MUDr. Jarmila Křížová, Ph.D. with the fact that the specialization of the unit is short-term and long-term nutritional intervention and indications for artificial enteral and parenteral nutrition. Patients with various intoxications will also be admitted to the ICU.

The new premises of the intensive metabolic care unit will also include a room with a bed enabling the care of very obese patients, and the most modern aids and devices for monitoring and supporting the vital functions of these patients will not be missing. For example, artificial pulmonary ventilation or continuous dialysis treatment will be available. "We want to continue the established cooperation with the KARIM VFN departments and the hospitals of the Central Bohemian Region. For a stay in the ICU, a much-needed follow-up post of an ICU ambulance will be provided in the new outpatient premises." added MUDr. Jarmila Křížová, Ph.D.

"On the construction site of the metabolic intensive care unit, we have already managed to complete the complex rehabilitation work on the supporting structure of the building and the damp basement. No one expected such extensive rehabilitation work. So, a few weeks ago we finally got to the point where the construction started to visibly grow. Today, the new partitions and backbone network distributions are almost complete.” the construction work was explained by the deputy director for investments and development Ing. Václav Javůrek.
