Architecture Day at VFN already on October 1!

VFN has once again joined the Day of Architecture festival. If you are interested in the history of the area, do not miss our guided tours. And what can you look forward to this year?

Sunday, October 1, 2023, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

VFN central boiler room, Wenzigova 2, Prague 2
The unique technical structure and the beauty of Brutalist architecture by the architect Karel Prager, which supplies heat to our hospital, is in completely original condition except for the replaced boiler technology. The futuristic building with a tall chimney from 1993 is the only completed part of Prager's extensive project for the new campus of the university hospital.
At 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., guided tours with architect Oleg Haman, who collaborated with Karl Prager on the project, and Karl Frankl, the project's chief engineer.

VFN Ceramic Lounge, Occupational Medicine Clinic building, Na Bojišti 1, Prague 2
A ceramic lounge created around 1914 in the building of the former Ondřej Schneider sanatorium for mobile women. The salon, richly decorated with wall coverings, glazed tiles, stained glass windows and ornaments, is complemented by a fountain with a sculpture of the Woman above the spring. The sanatorium was established between 1891 and 1892, when its Neo-Renaissance building was designed by the builder Čeněk Gregor. The southern wing was added between 1908 and 1909, and later the entire building was modified by the builder Josef Blecha. It is currently part of the VFN area.
Booking a tour of the lounge from 18/09/2023 on GoOut!
