Chaplains from all over Europe visited VFN
The top professional and work meeting of chaplains from all over the world took place in the Czech Republic for the very first time! The theme of the conference was the joint challenge "To be a spiritual guide in a fragile world". From Thursday to Sunday, a hundred hospital chaplains shared their professional and personal experiences and inspiration on how to accompany patients, their loved ones and hospital staff. At a time when traditional religion is on the decline, but the need for meaning and hope in life is still essential, their role is irreplaceable.
Part of the meeting was a visit by a group of chaplains to our hospital. Deputy for non-medical health professions Mgr. Dita Svobodová welcomed the chaplains in the hospital's Chapel of St. Crisis. MD Dan Suk and VFN chaplain Mgr. Matej Hájek, Th.D. then colleagues were shown around the hospital grounds and presented to them the developed support work of the Clinic of Palliative Medicine 1. LF UK and VFN.
