The DUS dialysis vascular access workshop II. is intended primarily for doctors and nurses who have completed the basic course with the theoretical part, or who are already examining dialysis shunts with ultrasound. The training will take place in small groups (max. 4 participants) at 5 stations (I.-V). The workshop is divided into two practical parts.
In the morning part, participants, under the guidance of lecturers, will sonographically examine the vascular accesses of booked dialysis patients in echo laboratories no. 1, 2, 3. In the seminar room, a clinical examination of the arteriovenous access by a nephrologist and so-called vascular mapping as part of the preoperative examination will take place.
In the afternoon, participants will examine patient models with native and prosthetic dialysis vascular shunts in echocardiography laboratories. They will be able to practice the basics of cannulation under sonographic control on a cannulation model, including cannulation of an arteriovenous shunt model.
During the workshop, each participant will be provided with a workbook for taking notes.
