Project brief:

On 1 January 2012, the General University Hospital in Prague launched the project "Modernization and renewal of instrumentation for the needs of the ICT Center of the General Teaching Hospital in Prague", registration number CZ.1.06 / 3.2.01 / 08.07625. The VFN received almost CZK 11 million for the implementation of the project under the 8th call of the Integrated Operational Program, Intervention area 3.2 - Public health services, supported activities - 3.2a Controlled modernization and renewal of instrumentation (medical devices) of national networks of medical facilities, including technical facilities . The project, which is co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund, will invest more than 14 million crowns from its own resources.

The main objective of the project is to ensure the availability and quality of standardized healthcare for patients in the area of stroke. The aim of the project will be achieved through the modernization and renewal of the Ikt facility equipment of the VFN in Prague. Multidetector CT, a device for controlled mild hypothermia, biochemical analyzer, transcranial ultrasound, ultrasound device for contrast vascular examination and 2 instruments for functional therapy of upper extremities will be acquired from the project funds for almost CZK 25 million.

The project will contribute to improving the diagnostic background and restoration of obsolete and defective devices as modern and will also enable significant improvement of therapeutic outcomes, extension of therapeutic possibilities and improvement of rehabilitation procedures. At the same time, it offers an exceptional opportunity to significantly renew and expand the equipment of the IKT's VFN Center in Prague, which will reach a comparable level with the European Union's major stroke centers in this respect.

The implementation of the project will have a positive impact on maintaining and improving the quality of care for patients after stroke in the care of the ICU's Ikt Center and will increase the efficiency of healthcare provision through the technologies used.
