A high-tech simulator that will improve the current care for premature babies at the VFN
The Department of Gynecology, Obstetrics and Neonatology of the 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University and the General Hospital of Prague has a new and first in the Czech Republic, the PAUL 2.0 educational simulator, which is designed for the care of extremely premature newborns. Paul is a faithful imitation of such a premature baby. He weighs only 1100 grams, measures 35 centimeters and corresponds to the size of a premature baby born in the 27th week of pregnancy, when his organism faces an extremely high risk of life-threatening complications. The simulator will be a teaching aid in courses on stabilization and resuscitation of premature newborns, and at the U Apolináře clinic, healthcare professionals from all over the Czech Republic will learn on it. It was purchased by the non-profit organization Nedoklubko zs with the support of the Eva Pavlová Foundation and a number of other generous corporate and individual donors.
