The palliative medicine clinic has new premises
The clinic of palliative medicine of the 1st Faculty of Medicine of the UK and VFN has opened newly renovated teaching spaces for the education of experts in the field of palliative medicine.
On Tuesday, September 12, we ceremoniously opened the newly renovated teaching spaces for the education of specialists in the field of palliative medicine in the building of the Faculty Polyclinic. The need for specialists in the field of palliative medicine is a hot topic in the healthcare industry. Support for education, systematic and professional teaching helps to solve this problem and make accessible and high-quality palliative care available to patients and their families throughout the Czech Republic.
The original premises of the workplace were not intended for teaching and lacked the necessary facilities and quality equipment. In the new premises, students and course participants can attend classes in an environment that meets the standards of modern education.
It was possible to reconstruct the premises by linking VFN and the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University with private donors who donated 2.5 million crowns to the modernization of the workplace through the Endowment Fund of the Clinic of Palliative Medicine.
The clinic of palliative medicine of the 1st Faculty of Medicine of the UK and VFN was established two years ago as the first in the Czech Republic. Currently, the team has about 20 people — a doctor, a psychologist, a nurse and a chaplain.
