On the occasion of the celebration on November 17, the rector of Charles University presented a number of important awards.
Doctors from VFN are also among the awardees.

The Arnošta z Pardubice award in the category of excellent teacher of the UK was received from the hands of rector Milena Králíčková by prof. MD Jarmila Heissigerová, Ph.D., MBA. As head of the Ophthalmic Clinic of the 1st Faculty of Medicine of the UK and VFN, Professor Heissigerová is involved in the teaching of students in master's medical fields as well as in the doctoral study program Cell Biology and Pathology and Pharmacology and Toxicology. She is an enthusiastic teacher and receives extremely positive feedback from students every year. MDDr. received an honorable mention from the UK Grant Agency. Jindřich Charvát, Ph.D. from the Stomatological Clinic of the 1st Faculty of Medicine of the UK and VFN for the project Detection of tooth decay using diffuse reflection spectroscopy, in which it searches for tooth decay in an original way without the need to use ionizing radiation. It thus introduces a potentially safer method of detection in places that cannot be controlled by direct vision.
