Tribute to Bedřich Smetana
On Tuesday, May 14, we ceremoniously unveiled a commemorative plaque to Bedřich Smetana at the building of the Psychiatric Clinic. An important composer spent the last moments of his life here, and this year marks 200 years since his birth! This initiative was supported by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic. VFN Director David Feltl, Minister of Health Vlastimil Válek, Minister of Defense Jana Černochová, Dean of the 1st Faculty of Economics Martin Vokurka, Deputy Minister of Culture Ondřej Chrást, representatives of the City Hall were present at the event. m. of Prague and the Municipal District of Prague 2. We also had the honor of welcoming the great-great-granddaughter of the composer Gloria Schwarzová, and the writer and publicist Pavel Kosatík, who recently published a new biographical book about Bedřich Smetana, gave a speech in the nearby therapeutic garden. The festive meeting was made more pleasant by the musical performance of Pavla Tesařová and Juraj Škoda from the Ševčík Quartet. We also thank Terezia Tománková for moderating the event.
