On Monday, March 9, 2020, a ceremonial handover of commemorative letters to students of the Department of Midwifery of the First Faculty of Medicine took place in the lecture room of the Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic of the General Teaching Hospital. Twelve female students of the first year of the bachelor program received original commemorative letters with illustrations by the Czech painter Kája Saudek. They were personally handed over to them by the Deputy for Non-medical Professions Mgr. Dita Svobodova, Ph.D., MHA.

The ceremony was also attended by the head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology prof. MUDr. Alois Martan, DrSc. and guarantor of the midwifery program, prof. MUDr. Antonín Pařízek, CSc., Who enriched the program with a short lecture on the history of midwifery education in our hospital and our medical school. The head nurse PhDr. Daniela Simonova, MUDr. Andrej Cerny, MUDr. Ondřej Sosna and Mgr. Miluše Kulhavá.
