Suchej February changes the attitude of Czechs towards alcohol
The rules are simple. Not a drop of alcohol all February. According to the WHO, Czechs who drink 14.4 liters of pure alcohol per person per year can test for the tenth time whether they are not drinking at risk. The problem of alcohol abuse affects more than one million people in the Czech Republic, and in connection with this, 6% of people die in our country every year.
Every year, the campaign tries to open up new topics. This year, Suchý brings a guide for independent companies, which helps to manage risky behavior and alcohol use in the workplace. It will help all Czech companies that want to delve deeper into the topic of alcohol and want to create a healthy work environment for their employees. The organizers of the event also draw attention to the topic of children's consumption of more or less alcoholic beverages.
The usefulness of the campaign is evidenced by the fact that, according to the survey, 76% of the Czech population aged 18+ already knows it. Last year, about 700,000 people tried their monthly sobriety. At the same time, it is far from just a detox from alcohol, but a change in lifestyle, general cleansing and the opportunity to do something meaningful for oneself. Over 50% of participants, four months after Sucháč, confirmed a long-term slowdown in alcohol consumption in a questionnaire. Almost almost since its inception, the Department of Addictology of the General Hospital and the First Medical Faculty of Charles University has also been involved in the campaign. And there is feedback: the campaign often reaches people who then turn to our clinic for advice, help for themselves or a loved one. Join us, you can find more information at www.suchejunor.cz
