We honored the memory of the victims of the bombing
Director of VFN prof. David Feltl and the Mayor of the City District of Prague 2 Mgr. Today, Jana Černochová honored the memory of the victims of the bombing at a memorial plaque on the building of our hospital.
On Wednesday, February 14, 1945, American planes dropped 152 tons of bombs on the Czech capital. The raid lasted only nine minutes. He claimed more than 700 victims and nearly 1,200 injured. One of the most affected areas was Charles Square. The raid destroyed a total of 183 houses, including the Emmaus Monastery, the Faust House and the Vinohrady Synagogue. An anti-aircraft shelter in the middle of the square was also hit, killing over a hundred Praguers.
