We honored the memory of the victims of the bombing
Director of VFN prof. David Feltl, the Mayor of Prague 2, Jan Korseska, and other representatives of the Prague 2 Municipal District today honored the memory of the victims of the bombing at the memorial plaque on the building of our hospital.
On Ash Wednesday, February 14, 1945, American planes dropped 152 tons of bombs on the Czech capital due to a tragic navigation error. During the raid, 701 people lost their lives, 1184 were injured. Dozens of houses were destroyed, two thousand houses were damaged. One of the most affected areas was Prague 2. The Faust House, building III, was hit on Karlov náměstí. internal VFN clinics and an anti-aircraft shelter in the middle of the square. Over a hundred Praguers perished in it.
