Ultrasonograph for the Department of Pediatric Urology
The Lucie Endowment Fund bought and donated a last-generation ultrasonograph worth 600,000 crowns to the Department of Pediatric Urology, Department of Urology, General Hospital and First Medical Faculty, Charles University.
The Lucie Endowment Fund of the Urological Clinic of the General Hospital and the First Medical Faculty of Charles University was established in 1992 with the aim of supporting early diagnosis and treatment of urological diseases in children and adults and providing state-of-the-art equipment necessary for top-notch patient care. During that time, the clinic has already managed to donate equipment for millions of crowns. "Ultrasonography is one of the basic examinations of children," explains the chairman of the Endowment Fund and the emeritus head of the Department of Urology prof. MUDr. Jan Dvoracek, DrSc., FCMA. "This imaging method is completely non-invasive, can be repeated without any risk of harm to the child's body and can detect a variety of diseases in the smallest patients," supplies prof. Dvořáček.
