Exhibition of photographer Vlastimil Kula at VFN!
You can visit photographer Vlastimil Kula's retrospective, multi-genre exhibition "Components of Intimacy" from September 3 to September 30, 2024. In the multi-functional space Old VFN Laundry (building A4 in the main area of VFN Prague) you will find photographs, photographic objects and artistic installations several meters long. You can view the exhibition from Monday to Friday from 16:00 to 20:00 and on weekends from 14:00 to 20:00.
Along with Jan Saudek, Vlastimil Kula (* 1950) is one of the two Czech photographers who were published by the prestigious Taschen publishing house in a separate monograph. Despite his significant global success, Kula has withdrawn into seclusion and for the last more than 20 years he has been living and creating in solitude in the forest in the former border zone at the very end of the republic, near the Aš ridge. He transformed the picturesque cottage of his parents into a steampunk studio, which sometimes looks like a deserted ruin and sometimes like a circus winter camp, in the backdrop of which he devotes himself to his work. "I realized that the well-known photographer is a very high-quality artist, and I decided to move part of his life's work to the hospital gallery. Ball sculptures have a special charm and are something the world has never seen before…,” adds exhibition curator Filip Kazda.
Entry to the original hospital gallery is free for children under 15. Pensioners and students can visit the exhibition for a discounted price of 100 crowns. The full entrance fee is 200 crowns.
