On Thursday, August 1, the 3rd year of the awareness campaign of the components of the integrated rescue system (IZS) supporting blood donation starts.

The VFN will be there again and the project of the Police of the Czech Republic in cooperation with the Medical Rescue Service of the capital City of Prague and Fire Rescue Department will actively support the city of Prague! The challenge consists of a donation "fight" between the IZS components and the public. The transfusion stations will send the totals of donors to the e-mail of the police every week, and the data will then appear on: www.policie.cz/nasekrev

Thanks to them, fictitious containers of IZS x public blood will be filled, you can also contribute to one of them. You will help and maybe influence the final result of the fight!

You can donate blood not only here at the Faculty Transfusion Department of VFN, but also at the Central Military Hospital, at the Faculty Hospital of Královské Vinohrady, at the Faculty Thomayer Hospital and at a number of other places throughout the Czech Republic.

! NEW this year is the registration of bone marrow donors! You can register immediately on Thursday 1 August from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. directly in front of the Police Presidium building (Strojnická 27, 170 89 Prague 7).

The donation event takes place from August to the end of September. The period is not chosen randomly, hospitals regularly face shortages of blood during the summer months. The goal project is to spread awareness about donation-free blood donation, thereby helping transfusion stations in Prague to find more new regular donors. Those currently about 100,000 are missing in the Czech Republic.
