What is palliative care and how can we help you
- Palliative care is a specialized multidisciplinary care for people facing serious illness. It aims to provide relief from the symptoms and stress associated with serious diseases and to improve quality of life of the patient and his family, with respect to their wishes and values.
- Palliative care provides a person facing serious illness much-needed support. It aims to gain general orientation in patient's situation and context of the illness, not only in the treatment of the ill organ.
- It helps patients in coping with a new life situation, supports caregivers and loved ones. It facilitates orientation in the possibilities of social, welfare and healthcare support.
- It helps to seek and formulate values and preferences of each person so that the treatment is consistent with his or her interests.
- Palliative care is intended for all patients regardless of their age or serious illness stage.
