The Perinatology Center of the Gynecological and Obstetric Clinic of the General Teaching Hospital in Prague is one of the largest workplaces in the Czech Republic and has long established trends in the care of pregnant and immature newborns not only in the Czech Republic.
The aim of the project is to modernize and renew the instrumentation of the Center of Highly Specialized Intensive Care in perinatology of the General Teaching Hospital and to implement so-called best practices into the clinical practice of treatment of pregnant patients and neonatal patients. The equipment purchased corresponds to the List of recommended equipment for centers of highly specialized intensive care in perinatology according to the Bulletin of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic.
The most important target area is care for women with premature birth, fetal growth restriction and care for pregnant women with associated diagnoses (often chronic diseases) for pregnancy. The main goal of our care is, among other things, to reduce the risk of premature birth and to improve the diagnosis. Acquisition of instruments will significantly contribute to increasing the quality of highly specialized care for pregnant women and newborns based on state-of-the-art science in the areas of gynecology, obstetrics and neonatology. At the same time, we want to strengthen the position of the VFN in Prague as a top perinatological workplace with international prestige, not only in the area of providing health care but also in the area of clinical research and education.
