Comprehensive nursing care for wounds in adults and pediatric patients
The aim of the course is to acquire and deepen the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of non-medical healthcare workers in the treatment of wounds and skin defects. Non-medical healthcare professionals should have sufficient information about new trends and practices in wound care. The acquired knowledge and skills will enable them to treat wounds and defects more easily and effectively and will contribute to improving the patient's quality of life. The skills and knowledge acquired in this course should reduce the number of complications of patients with wounds and defects, shorten their hospitalization and rehospitalization.
Course Objective:
- prepare the general nurse, midwife and paramedic to independently perform specific activities related to the nursing care of patients with wounds and defects.
Entry requirements:
- completion of qualification studies and adaptation process,
- fitness to practice without a professional supervision
- practice in healthcare for at least 2 years.
Schedule:
The total number of hours of theoretical and practical part is 58 hours.
- Theory - 33 hrs.
- Practice - 25 hrs.

Course completion:
The course will be completed by a practical examination in which the course participant will perform and justify the treatment of the wound in the patient. The final exam is a presentation (in the form of PowerPoint) of a case report of a patient with a wound.
