This course is intended for general nurses who encounter tobacco users in their practice and can systematically lead them to quit smoking as part of their routine care.

Course Objective:

The aim of this certified course is to provide general nurses with a comprehensive theoretical background on tobacco use and addiction and to equip them with the skills to apply selected techniques of smoking cessation education in direct work with patients, tobacco smokers.
In the form of practical training, they will also be able to try selected addictological counseling techniques under the professional supervision of a lecturer - orientational evaluation of the stage of motivation and degree of addiction, brief intervention, work with patient motivation, patient education about withdrawal procedures and relapse prevention. Graduates of the course will be equipped with complementary knowledge and skills enabling general nurses to educate patients using tobacco leading to smoking cessation.

Course Schedule:

The course lasts two days with a total of 16 hours of education, of which 10 hours of theoretical teaching and 6 hours of practical training.

Termination method:

The course ends with an online test. Upon successful completion of the course, the participant will receive a certificate valid for the Czech Republic.
