Description: Certified course of MZ ČR

The course aims to acquire and deepen theoretical knowledge and practical skills, through which a general nurse, pediatric nurse and midwife acquire professional theoretical and practical knowledge and skills for the application of nursing care for patients/clients with a stoma during hospitalization in healthcare facilities, outpatient and home care. The emphasis throughout the course will be on assessing and mastering care during stoma treatment (uncomplicated and complicated) including practical training in selecting devices for stoma treatment and determining an educational plan, conditions within the training of non-medical healthcare workers (general nurses, pediatric nurses and midwives) for special areas of activity and competencies for which course graduates acquire special professional competence, including the definition of activities.

 

Course Objective:

The aim of the certified course is to prepare non-medical healthcare workers (general nurses, pediatric nurses and midwives) for special areas of activity and competence for which course graduates acquire special professional competence, including the definition of activities that are necessary for nursing care by general nurses, pediatric nurses and midwives in the inpatient and outpatient parts of healthcare facilities and in home care.

 

The course is designed for:

  • The course is intended for general nurses, pediatric nurses and midwives after completing the adaptation process and qualified to practice the health profession without professional supervision, with at least 1 year of experience at a bedside in a healthcare facility, in outpatient and home care.

 

Schedule:

Total duration of the training program: 3 months
Theoretical part – 30 hours – (1 class hour = 45 minutes)
Practical part – 40 hours – (1 class hour = 60 minutes)

The practical part must be completed by the candidate within 4 weeks of completing the theoretical part. The dates will be defined in advance and the candidate will register for them before the course starts. The internship lasts one week, Monday-Friday, with a maximum of 4 trainees/week.

Theory: 24. 03. – 26. 03. 2025
Internship: according to schedule
Final exam: 27. 05. 2025

 

Course dates for the second half of 2025:

Theory: 06. 10. – 08. 10. 2025
Internship: according to schedule
Final exam: 25. 11. 2025

 

Venue:

The theoretical part:

Department of Education, General Hospital in Prague, Na Bojišti 1, 120 00 Prague 2. Total of 30 hours.

 

Practical part:

at the workplaces of the 1st Surgical Clinic of the General Hospital and the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague, U Nemocnice 499/2, 128 08 Prague 2 and Poliklinika Karlovo náměstí 32, Prague 2, 128 00. Total of 40 hours.
Individual workplaces:
• ostomy clinic I. Department of Surgery Faculty Polyclinic Karlovo náměstí 32, 2nd floor, building C1 center
• ostomy clinic I. Surgical Clinic, U Nemocnice 499/2, pavilion A8
• standard department I. Surgical Clinic, U Nemocnice 499/2, pavilion A8

 

Termination method:

The certified course will end with a final exam in the form of a test with open and closed questions, followed by a presentation of a case study of care for a patient with a stoma in the classroom of the Education Department of the General Hospital in Prague, Na Bojišti 1, 120 00 Prague 2. The final exam can be repeated a maximum of 2 times.
The graduate will receive a certificate valid for the Czech Republic. The certificate will list the activities for which the graduate of the certified course has acquired special professional competence within the scope of the educational program.

 

Price:

15 000 CZK
