The theoretical part

 

BLOCK I (9:00 – 9:50)

• Chest ultrasound - normal findings, pleural effusions, PNO, consolidation, empyema, pulmonary edema (Assoc. Prof. MUDr. Jiří Votruba, Ph.D.)
• Facts and myths about chest effusions (MUDr. Zuzana Šestáková)
• Management of patients with empyema (MUDr. Tomáš Hromek)
• Pleuroscopy vs fibrinolysis in pleural infections (MUDr. Jiří Votruba, Ph.D.)

 

BLOCK II (10:00 – 10:50)

• Management of patients with primary, spontaneous PNO (MUDr. Zuzana Hajníková)
• Pleuroscopy and primary, spontaneous PNO (doc. MUDr. Jiří Votruba, Ph.D.)
• Introduction of a chest drain and fixation technique (MUDr. Kryštof Šefl)
• VATS management of complicated parapneumonic effusion/empyema and recurrent pneumothorax

 

BLOCK III (11:00 – 11:30)

• Management of patients with suspected malignant pleural effusion, tunneled pleural catheter (TPC) - indications, applications, complications (MUDr. Zuzana Šestáková)
• Pleuroscopy vs Tunneled Pleural Catheter (Assoc. Prof. MUDr. Jiří Votruba, Ph.D.)
• Management of patients with established TPK from a nurse's perspective? (Bc. Pavla Randáčková, DiS.)

 

Practical part (12:30 – 14:30)

 

Practicing the introduction of TPK on models.

Practice inserting a chest drain and fixing it on models.

CANCELLATION POLICY: If the client cancels their participation 14 calendar days before the start of the event, the cancellation fee is 100% of the set price of the event (the issued invoice must be paid). The exception is the client's proven incapacity for work at the time of the event or other serious reasons. The head of the education department decides on exceptions.
