A specialized center for the treatment of viral hepatitis C is part IV. internal clinics and is guaranteed by the Czech Society of Hepatology and the Society of Infectious Medicine of the Czech Medical Association JEP.
The center offers complete diagnostics, including non-invasive evaluation of liver disease using so-called elastography, treatment with all available methods and subsequent monitoring after the end of treatment. He works very closely with the Addictology Center of the General Hospital.
Viral hepatitis C is a serious chronic liver disease that leads to a substantial proportion of patients developing liver cirrhosis and consequently the risk of liver failure or primary liver cancer. Modern treatment options should be considered for each patient. Hepatitis C is now spread mainly among people with risky behavior, but there are also patients who may have acquired the infection, for example, during a blood transfusion in the past. In addition, before 1991, this infection could not be detected at transfusion stations. More on: https://testujsevcas.cz/.
Compared to previous years, viral hepatitis C is now treated with oral drugs (tablets) for 2-3 months. The success of the treatment is almost 100%. The patient is usually completely cured, ie permanently free of hepatitis C virus.
Our doctors are ready to discuss with patients the procedure of detailed diagnosis, various treatment options as well as the subsequent procedure and monitoring. We also have experience in the treatment of hepatitis C in patients with advanced liver disease or associated diseases.
It is possible to order an examination for suspected hepatitis C without the recommendation of the attending physician.
